Based in London, James Martin focuses on CEO succession, board consulting, individual leadership development, team effectiveness, and coaching, working with a broad range of clients across multiple sectors. He has extensive international experience covering businesses in North and South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia-Pacific. James led the firm’s Talent Management Practice globally for several years and was one of the key architects of the practice, approach, and assessment methodology that Egon Zehnder uses today.

Before joining Egon Zehnder’s team, James was the Director of Equity Research at Credit Suisse First Boston in London. His prior roles include Assistant Director of Equity Research at ABN AMRO and Senior Consultant with Gemini Consulting. James started his career as a pilot in the Royal Air Force, teaching others to fly fast jets.
James earned a BA from University of Leeds and an MBA from London Business School. He is a trustee of the Young Classical Artists Trust, which supports the careers of emerging young musicians. James still serves as a RAF pilot in the reserves. In his free time, he enjoys carpentry and photographing wildlife.
